Decorating a bedroom in shabby-chic style

I want to redo my bedroom in a shabby-chic style with a relaxed feel. I have spent a fair bit of money on bedding and gauzy curtains in a beige or cream colour. I want to paint my walls a light pink. Any other ideas?

The shabby-chic look is more about distressed surfaces and casual slipcovers combined with flea market finds. Colour can be flexible and as soft or intense as you want. While a very pale, soft pink can be charming, it's a tricky colour. Like red, the wrong shade can be the difference between wanted drama and a Red Cross station.

For a Zen, cool and tranquil feeling that is more unisex, try a dusty periwinkle blue or a cool pale sage green for your walls. Your neutral fabrics will go with any of these colours.
