Myth 2: Never mix patterns

Pattern combining is no longer the decorator's nemesis. A mix of stripes, big blowsy florals, checks and geometric designs will liven up plain upholstery in a flash. But avoid a mishmash and limit your colour palette to a maximum of three shades.
