This houmous dip is simplicity itself to make. Serve it with warm pitta bread or ciabatta, crudites or barbecued meats and vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 400g can chick peas
  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • lemon juice
  • olive oil and paprika to serve
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
Serves: 4 Preparation: 5 Cook Time: 10 Total Time: 15min whats this
 

Directions

  1. Drain the liquid from the chick-peas into a small pan and add the garlic. Cook over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, uncovered, until the garlic is softened. Leave to cool then add to the chick-peas and whizz in a food processor until smooth.
  2. Season to taste with lemon juice, salt and pepper. Serve in a bowl with a little olive oil poured over and sprinkle with paprika.
