Ice-cream Eyeballs in Blood-clot Sauce

A diabolical dessert to end a perfect Halloween dinner
Ingredients
- 500g mixed berries (such as raspberries and blackcurrants; frozen will do if fresh not available)
- 50g sugar
- 100ml water
- 12 scoops vanilla ice-cream
- 12 round jelly sweets (to look like eyes)

- Clean the berries, if fresh, under running water. Place in a saucepan with the sugar and water.
- Bring to the boil, stirring occasionally. Turn the heat down and simmer for about minutes. Remove and cool. Chill until required.
- To serve, use an ice-cream scoop to form two 'eyeballs' of ice-cream. Place side by side in a bowl and press the jelly sweets on top to look like irises. Drizzle the pulped fruit around the eyeballs. Tell the children that the dark fruity bits are blood clots.
- Variation: You can make the eyes blood-shot by sqeezing over thin streaks of bottled raspberry sauce.
