Irresistible scones baked golden with Irish Cheddar and filled with Cashel Blue Cheese. Simple to make and a delicious anytime snack.
 

Ingredients

  • 225g/8oz self-raising flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 50g/2oz butter
  • 50g/2oz Irish Cheddar cheese, grated
  • pinch of dry mustard powder
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • approx 150ml/1/4pt milk
  • 50g/2oz Cashel Blue cheese
Serves: 12 Preparation: 10 Cook Time: 10 Total Time: 20min whats this
 

Directions

  1. Sift flour into a bowl with salt. Rub in the butter to breadcrumb stage.
  2. Add cheese and mustard powder and stir in. Gradually add egg and enough milk to make a soft dough - you may not need all the milk.
  3. Roll out on a lightly floured worktop to m/n thick. Cut into rounds.
