Lynne Franks, the iVillage entrepreneur expert, hosted a live online chat on the 23rd August about starting up your own business and how to go it alone. If you missed it, here's what happened

Today we will be speaking with business expert Lynne Franks, so if you are interested in working from home or already have your own business and have a question you'd like to ask this is the place to do it. Lynne is one of the world's best known public relations experts. She is also a newspaper columnist and a commentator on women's issues. She started her first company at her kitchen table when she was just 21. She soon joined the heady world of PR and became one of the leading voices of PR in the world. She has also become a spokeswoman for businesswomen the world over and is currently developing SEED - Sustainable Enterprise Empowering Dynamics, a network aimed at training and empowering. Her book - The SEED handbook, the Feminine Way to Create Business is an excellent manual for all budding entrepreneurs out there. The book will teach you how to nurture and create business based on integrity, personal values and openness.

creamfields01uk: Lynne, what made you decide to launch your own business?
Lynne Franks: Hi everyone! Hi creamfields. I'd been working as a young journalist and I couldn't get the job I wanted, so I decided to start my own job - a PR agency from my house when I was 21.

wilkes_melanie: Do you really need the Internet nowadays to work from home?
Lynne Franks: Hi. I think it is because of the internet that we all can work from home. We have more flexiblity for our work - I don't know how I ever managed without it. I've even created my own website: www.seedfusion.com, a community for entrepreneurial women.
