This looks great - what exactly is it?
These are the iVillage.co.uk photo galleries. Basically, iVillage users upload their pictures into the gallery so they can share and show off their pics with other members and friends.
Can anyone submit a picture?
Yes, as long as you're a registered member of iVillage. If you are not a member, join now. It's free and fast to sign up. Once you're registered, you have to make sure you're logged into the site. From there, you can click the link "send us your picture". Fill in the form, hit submit and your picture should be up on the site within a few days.
Are there any requirements for pictures I want to submit?
Yes, the picture size cannot be larger than 500kb. Ideal dimensions for your picture would be no wider than 400 pixels and/or no taller than 600 pixels. The file formats we support are .jpg and .gif. Before you upload your picture, please check to see if it is in focus and the image file is correctly oriented and does not need to be rotated. Once you have uploaded a picture, you cannot alter it. Please do not submit the same picture more than once in the same category or it will be removed.
What's the difference between a gallery and a category?
Each gallery is a different theme or subject and each category is a sub-section of that gallery. So for example, if a gallery were titled "Colours," the categories for that gallery would be "black, white, red, etc..."
I can't find a gallery or category for my picture...
If we don't have a gallery or category that you want, make a suggestion! Go to our feedback page and select 'Suggestion' from the drop-down.
How do I move from one gallery or category to the next?
To get to a specific gallery from the main page: Click on the gallery name to go directly into that gallery. Once inside a gallery, you can choose to view a featured photo, most recent photo or all photos from a specific category.
You'll also see a list of categories for that gallery on the right-hand side of the gallery main page. You can click on those links to go to each separate category.
If you are inside one category and would like to move into another, select the category you would like from the list.
How do I get back to the main photo page once I'm inside a specific gallery or category?
To get back to the main page, click on the link at the top right of the page that says, "all galleries".
I just saw an inappropriate comment. What should I do?
If you see an inappropriate comment, please click on the link "report abuse" Fill out the form and hit submit. A message will be sent to one of the iVillage community moderators.
Once my pic is in a gallery, how do I email it to my friend?
After you've uploaded your photo and it has appeared in the photo gallery, you will notice a "Send to a friend" link underneath your photo towards the bottom of the page (it has a little envelope next to it). Click on this link and fill out the form. (You are allowed to send this page to five people at a time.) Click "submit" to send the message.
I want to delete or change my photo...
If you want your photo removed from the photo gallery, please visit our feedback page and select 'Complaint' from the drop-down. In the comments section, make sure you include your iVillage member name, the link to your photo and the reason for the change.
