Katherine Jenkins represents her roots
Golf. I don't love it. So I was dubious when I was invited to hobnob with the VIPs at the Ryder Cup in Wales. I had just left Cardiff after all, why go back? Answer: Denzel Washington and Will Smith. Yup, let me get my coat!
I'll let you in on the disappointment now, no I didn't see either of them. I missed Will Smith by 'minutes' apparently, according to one of the organisers. I don't believe it. I think A'list stars melt in the rain so they don't go out in it. And boy did it rain. I had Diana Ross hair for the whole weekend. Not a good look for 2010.
I did nab a chat with Katherine Jenkins, that's as good as it gets. I had pre-judged her as being a bit full of herself and, therefore, one to miss. She was a bit 'look at me' but I didn't have time to hate her because I was transfixed by her roots: platinum blonde hair and dark brown roots. Is this fashion? Have I missed something? The girl is going out on stage in front of millions of her Welsh fans - and half of North America - and she didn't find the time to get her roots done. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't KNOW she could get it done free. Celebs get everything free. I get things free because I, occasionally, chit chat with and/or brush past celebrities. It's madness really.
In other, cheerier, news, Peter Andre launched his latest perfume 'Mysterious Girl' at Crazy Bear in London last week. Yes the party was lovely, and yes Peter Andre is possibly the nicest man on the planet.
But, as Peter and Katie get set to go to court again, it does seem like this bitter break up shows no sign of abating. In the media circus that their relationship has become, it's expected for people to take sides, but that's not easy. I've met both Katie and Peter several times and they are both friendly and very charming. I know Katie comes across as a spoilt little madam on her TV show, but all I can tell you is that she has been sweet to me every time I've met her.
The same goes for Peter. I think we all know by now that it's the press who are fanning the flames of acrimony between them, and I suspect that without the constant baiting from the media, and left to their own devices, Katie and Peter would have put this whole drama behind them long ago, and they'd be focusing on their children.
There's no doubt in my mind that they are both wonderful parents and they were deeply in love, and it's sad that we sit and watch as their family fall apart so publicly. All I know is that things are never as black and white as they seem. Every time I meet Peter I get reminded as to why lots (and lots) of you fantasise about him. He is simply too adorable for words... as is his brother Mike (who gives me great haircare tips) and the rest of the Andre team. The best management team in the business IMHO by a long chalk. And there endeth the lesson.
Until next week girls.....

What's Hot
Purple ankle shoe-boots are rocking on the showbiz scene. Mine didn't see the light of day at the golf but ho-hum. Now I am back on dry land, I'm sporting these Boden beauties: www.boden.co.uk Image 2
Also hot...
My 80s pop club night is back on home turf again this month, Sat, October 23rd at Mish Mash bar in Battersea, London. Come out and play with me? All the info is up on our site: www.desdemonaplayspop.com
DISCLAIMER. I didn't actually choose this one, as I've always believed the Beckams' smellies might be too chavtastic for me. But a lovely beauty PR sent it to me to test and shock, horror - it's not hideous! In fact, if you like Chanel No-5 type night time/sexy/you KNOW you're in the room when you're wearing it perfumes, it may be worth trying.
