The ultimate English stew, perfect for big family meals. Be warned though - it takes two hours to cook.
 

Ingredients

  • Lean lamb chops or cutlets
  • Oil
  • Potatoes
  • Onion
  • Carrots
  • Fresh thyme
  • Salt and pepper
  • Stock
  • Butter
Serves: 4 Preparation: 20 Cook Time: 120 Total Time: 140min whats this
 

Directions

  1. Heat ml (bsp) oil in a pan. Brown lean lamb chops or cutlets on all sides.
  2. Peel and slice (b) potatoes and arrange a layer over the bottom of a large ovenproof dish.
  3. Cover with onion, sliced and carrots, peeled and sliced.
  4. Season well and sprinkle with sprigs fresh thyme.
