Maths Skills: My Own Number Chart

Number charts reinforce letter and number recognition. Children make charts of important numbers in their lives.

What this activity will develop:
Maths, art and language skills

What you'll need:Two craft paper circles (28cm and 10cm diameters) per childRulersMarkersOld calendarsScissorsGlue

What to do:
Have your children use markers and rulers to divide the large circle into eight sections. Have them label the sections with personal information titles that involve numbers, such as phone number, address, age, height and so on. Then have them glue the small circle in the centre of the large circle and write 'MY OWN NUMBER CHART' on it. Cut the numerals they need in order to complete their charts from an old calendar and glue them into place. Encourage them to draw pictures to illustrate the categories on the charts.
