Plaited up do
This plaited up 'do is a new version of the classic french twist - and it's so easy to recreate. Start by pulling the hair into a high ponytail and securing with a band. Then plait the ponytail, tying tightly at the bottom. Finally, pin the end of the plait underneath the top and decorate with a strip of black ribbon for extra wow factor.
Tousled up do
A tousled up 'do is more youthful and fashion-forward than a neater, classic style. To get this look, run some mousse through the hair before blow drying for added texture, then pull back and pin in sections. Start at the front, teasing the hair into a low quiff, pinning at the crown, twisting the hair around to create a messy bun. Repeat with the rest of your hair. If it looks a bit messy, that's ok!
Short curls
If your hair is naturally curly, keeping it short is a great way to get volume and tighter curls. If your hair is straight, this can be a time consuming, but worthy, practice. Small curling tongs or heated rollers are the best way to achieve this style.
Vintage chic
This is a great modern style with a vintage twist. To achieve this look, start by curling the hair with small, one inch curling tongs. Don't curl higher than your chin. Then pull the curls apart and spritz with a little hairspray to hold. Pull up small sections and pin at the nape of the neck and crown of the head. Finish by adding a couple of black slides to one side of the hair.
Short and sleek
If you have very straight, thick hair, this style will be perfect for you. Short styles and fringes are best on oval and heart shaped faces. Ask your stylist for a deep fringe - this is all about bold lines and shape, so it's not one for the faint hearted!
Pinned up
A style like this will show off great bone structure and lengthen the appearance of the neck. To get this look, rough dry hair and twist up and back, pinning sections as you go. Tease the top for added volume and finish with a spritz of hairspray.
Glamour
This is a fabulous new way to wear your hair up. Perfect for a winter wedding or seasonal event. It's also not as hard to create as you would think. Start by tying the hair into four low ponytails at the nape of the neck. Tie lengths of ribbon or material to the top of the ponytails, leaving the lengths hanging down. Then plait the ponytails with the ribbon and hair, tying up at the ends. Finish by looping up the plaits and pinning to the top of the ponytails.
Long locks
A longer version of the previous hairstyle. To achieve this, just hook the plaits up and pin at the top, rather than looping round to achieve the shorter style.
The twist
If you have long hair, this is a good way to tie your hair up in the day. Roughly pull hair up into a low pony and secure with a hairband. Twist the hair into a small barrel shape. Take a length of string and tie all over the hair at random points. Secure by giving a final twist around the whole bun and hold with hairspray.
The new bun
A new twist on a ladylike bun. Start by leaving the front section (what would be the fringe, if you had one) loose, and sweeping the hair into a high ponytail and securing with a band. To get the textured look shown on this model, crimp the ponytail. Then roll the hair vertically under the hairband, using bobby pins to hold in place. Take the front section, spray with hairspray and give a final blast with a hairdryer to hold in place. Clip the sides at the top of the bun to secure and finish with a good helping of hairspray.
Think big
For va-va-voom volume like this, you need to put in some time and effort, but it's well worth it. Start by washing the hair and rough drying with a towel. Run a 50p size amount of mousse through your hair and dry small sections over a round barrel brush with your hairdryer on it's highest setting. Roll each section into velcro rollers and finish by blasting with the cool setting on your hairdryer. Leave to cool, then pull out rollers and tease into a natural style with your fingertips.
The messy bun
This is a great daytime up do. The messy bun and hairslides keep it youthful and paired down, as opposed to a glam evening do. Start by rough drying the hair with your fingers. Then pull hair into a ponytail at the crown. Twist the hair around loosely into a bun and pin in place. Pull gently at the top to give volume and add a few slides to one side of the hair.
Romantic waves
Romantic waves are still big news this season and are really easy to achieve. Leave hair to dry naturally, then pull hair into small sections and wind around 1 inch curling tongs. Leave for a few minutes and repeat through the whole head. Roughly pull the hair apart to leave more natural-looking curls, then spritz with hairspray to hold.
Super sleek straight hair is making a come back. So get out your GHDs and get ironing! To achieve this particular look, part hair slightly off centre and straighten in thick chunks. Finish with a pea-sized amount of texture paste for movement.
Modern twist
This is a literal twist on the old-fashioned topknot. It's so great because it really does take mininum effort to look so good. Start by sweeping the top half of your hair back with your fingertips and securing at the nape of the neck with a band. Pull the band through one more time, stopping the hair half way to create a loop. Pull the rest of the hair back through the loop to give a knotted effect. Spray with hairspray to hold.
High and mighty
To create this look, you either need a lot of hair or a good hair piece! Simply pull the hair into a high ponytail, then twist the hair around and pin in place. Finish with a good dose of hairspray to avoid stray hairs coming loose.
The tuck
This style is so Victoriana! To achieve, tie hair in a low pony and roll up towards the head. Tuck the ends back into the band and spray with hairspray.
French twist
This French Twist is quite hard to achieve, but for on-trend retro style and wow-factor impact, it's worth the effort. Start by sectioning the top of the hair and clipping out of the way. Then brush the rest of the hair over to the side and secure in place with bobby pins. Twist the hair round into a roll and again, use bobby pins to hold. Then, take the top section and roll under in the same way, securing with bobby pins. Spray all over for hold.
