Josh Hartnett

The 24-year-old's breakthrough role came in the 1999 thriller The Faculty, in which he teamed up with Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood and one of our Women To Watch, Clea DuVall. But it wasn't until the 2001 release of Pearl Harbor, in which Josh starred alongside fellow sex object Ben Affleck, that he earned the heart-throb title.

Fast facts:

  • Josh has three younger siblings whose names all start with the letter J: Jake, Joe and Jessica.
  • He auditioned six times for Dawson's Creek, but was not cast.
  • He keeps his love life very close to his chest. There's not much gossip about his private life, apart from a vague mention of being falsely linked to Julia Stiles and getting back together with an old high school girlfriend.

    Benjamin Bratt

Half-Peruvian Indian, half-Caucasian, Benjamin Bratt first came to the attention of the female population in 1995 when he joined the cast of Law & Order as sexy Detective Reynaldo 'Rey' Curtis. After he left the show in 1999 he starred in the Madonna flop The Next Best Thing. He followed that miss with a hit in the 2000 Oscar-winning film Traffic, and then teamed with Sandra Bullock in the doubtful Miss Congeniality. But he more than redeemed himself with his portrayal of troubled Latin icon and writer Miguel Pinero in the 2001 gritty biopic Pinero.

    Fast facts:

  • Dated documentary filmmaker Monika McClure from 1990 to 1996 (yes, there were other women in his life before Julia).
  • Dated Spin City actress Jennifer Esposito, whom he met when she made guest appearance on Law & Order in 1996.
  • You might have heard that Ben dated Julia Roberts. Ben and Julia, 1997-2001. Bye-bye Julia.
  • He married actress Talisa Soto in April 2002.
