Rhydian's X Factor verdict
Writing exclusively for iVillage.co.uk, former X Factor runner-up Rhydian Roberts gives his views on this year's finalists
Hi everyone,
This week saw the contestants performing songs from the George Michael/Wham! back catalogue.
As soon as I heard Joe's song choice I knew he would reign triumphant. Louis did have a point when he queried whether it was a George Michael song or indeed an Elton John number, (Louis' little rule book is a hoot) but nonetheless Geordie Joe shone vocally.
It was nice to see an original rendition of Careless Whisper, by Danyl, although he was, as Cheryl put it, a little flat.
Stacey can't seem to put a foot wrong at the moment and seems to be growing in confidence and more popular than ever. What a coup it was to have Simon say she is the nicest contestant ever to have graced the X Factor stage.
A classic case of 'it's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice!' Take note Danyl.
I thought Lloyd wasn't too bad this week and I enjoyed his rendition of Faith but in all honesty I thought he was a gonner on Sunday.
Little prepared us for an Olly Murs and Jedward sing off! Lloyd lives to fight another week. Olly definitely deserved to stay in but all credit to the twins for making the best of an amazing experience!
P.S. It was fab to hear Mariah again. Incredible technique, especially when she goes into her 'whistle'. Well done to SuBo too!
Till next week,
Rhydian.
