What's it about?
Dave Buznik has the kind of job that could only be dreamt up in a Hollywood movie. He designs clothing for overweight cats. He's good at his job, but feels increasingly put upon and unappreciated by his bully of a boss.
Meanwhile, his long term girlfriend Linda (Marisa Tomei) is becoming more and more frustrated by Dave's inability to demonstrate his affection for her in public and for not being man enough to stand up for himself. She suggests a temporary break-up.
An altercation aboard an aeroplane finally causes Dave to flip his lid - all his pent-up aggression finally comes to the fore and he ends up assaulting a stewardess. He ends up in court and is ordered to attend an Anger Management course run by a Dr Buddy Rydell. Dr Rydell's unorthodox, abrasive and downright confrontational approach to therapy leaves Dave mystified and exceedingly peeved, especially when it transpires that Rydell has been hitting on Linda, who seems unaccountably smitten with the doc. Could this be the impetus Dave needs to win back his leading lady?

Is it any good?
The film attempts to tackle a potentially interesting subject matter: passive aggression is something that many of us - especially those of us who live in busy cities - can identify strongly with. However Peter's Segal's film doesn't really get to grips with the problem as well as Joel Schumacher's Falling Down did in 1993. We've all seen Jack Nicholson play the part of glinty-eyed manic eccentric so many times now, its getting a bit tired. Adam Sandler and Marisa Tomei put in a good perfomance, and there are a few surprise cameos from the likes of Woody Harrelson, John McEnroe and even Rudy Giuliani. If you're looking for a non-taxing way to spend your evening you could do worse than go and see this film, but don't expect it to rock your world.
Best Bit
Dave's fat ginger cat dressed in an array of amusing outfits designed by Dave, including a hilarious gangsta-style red hip-hop ensemble.
