Help and Tips for Using the iVillage Audio Video Player
Windows Media Player
Play/Pause
When you click on an iVillage Audio Video link and have set Windows Media Player as your preferred streaming software, your file will automatically begin to play after it buffers for a short period of time.
If the file does not play automatically, click on the play button to initiate the playing of your selected clip.
At any time while the file is playing, you can click on the pause button. This will stop the video in its current position. To continue playing, click the play button to un-pause the video.
Stop
If you ever want to stop the video or audio clip simply click on the stop button. Hitting the stop button will end the connection to the file completely.
To play the video again, hit play and this will start the video over from the beginning after a short period of buffering.
Mute
You can mute the audio or video clip at any time by hitting the mute button. Clicking on this button will cut the volume but allow the clip to continue playing. If you want to hear the clip after pressing mute, simply click the mute button again.
Fast-Forward/Rewind
To fast-forward: With your mouse, hold down the fast-forward button. hold the button down until you are at the desired part of the audio videoclip. Letting go, the file will automatically resume playing from your desired place.
To rewind:
With your mouse, hold down the rewind button. hold the button down until you are at the desired part of the audio videoclip. Letting go, the file will automatically resume playing from your desired place.

Steps
Simply click on the "Play More Audio Video " image and a pull-down menu will appear with titles of other related media.
With your mouse, select the title of the media clip you would like to play. Let go of your mouse once the title is selected and the clip will automatically start to play.
How to Use the Buy Related Products Feature
Every now and then, you may see a "Buy Related Products" button located at the bottom left, next to the "Play More Audio Video " scroll-down bar. This feature allows you to purchase related products.
Click on the "Buy Related Products" button and a new browser window will open with the related product available for your purchase. Follow the instructions on that page to buy the item.
How to Use the Related Features
The Related Features are located in the info tab above the search section on the side of the iVillage Audio Video Player. Each Related Feature found on the iVillage Audio Video Player is information that is handpicked by the editors of iVillage to correlate to the media clip. Each Related Feature link will have an icon next to it indicating the type of information it links to: Tool, Chat, Board, Article and Expert.
To view one of the Related Features, click on the link you desire (you may want to pause or stop the video before clicking). A new browser window will open and go to the respective link. Your iVillage Audio Video Player will still be open and you can access it by closing the new browser window.
How to use the Search feature The search function is located in the Info tab under the Related Features on the bottom right side of the iVillage Audio Video Player. This is a great tool for finding out additional information you may be seeking.
The words you see already in the search box have been placed there for your convenience. These words have been hand picked by our editors to relate to the media clip that is currently playing. However, please feel free to type in any subject that you are interested in researching.
You may want to pause or stop the media clip before using the search function.
Steps
Enter words that best describe what you are seeking, or you can use the preexisting choices.
For best results, try to be as specific as possible, and don't use commas or dashes. Select where you want to do your search: on the iVillage the entire network, certain channels or on the WWW.
Click on "Go" The search results page will open a new browser window.
