Help and Tips for Using the iVillage Audio Video Player
How to Send Audio Video to a Friend
You may want to send your favourite media clips to your friends. It's a very simple process. This feature is located in the tab section on the right side of the iVillage Audio Video Player.
Steps:
- While the media player is open with the media clip you want to send, click on the "Send" tab.
- Fill in your email address. This email address will appear in the "From" field when your friend receives the email.
- Fill in your name. We will include your name in the subject of the email, ensuring that your friend will open the mail.
- In the "Send To" fields, enter up to three email addresses (you can also send one to yourself). Just click in the circle next to "I would like to receive a copy."
- If you would like to write a note or comment relating to the media clip, add that into the "Comments" field.
- The last step: Click on the "Send" button.
- Once you hit "Send," you will receive a confirmation message stating which media file was sent and to whom. Once this process is complete, you can easily go back to the "Info" tab. Just click on the tab.
- Your friend(s) will receive the email almost immediately. Within the email, your friend will find a link that they can click on to see the media. The email will also include the Related Features associated with that piece of media.
Improving your Audio/Video Playback
If you are experiencing poor media playback while watching or listening to an iVillage media clip you may want to change your preferences to correct this issue. Within the preferences tab set your connection speed less than what it is currently set at. For example, if you have a 56k modem and have 56k modem set in your connection speed but are experiencing poor media playback set your connection speed to 28k/33k modem and hit save. You should notice that the media clip plays more consistently.
High Speed Users: Watch your Videos in Full Screen
If you are using a PC and have selected the Cable Modem/DSL or Broadband/T1 connection speed in the Preferences tab, you can watch your videos in full screen mode. When watching a video in full screen mode your video will fill up your entire monitor so it'll be more like watching TV!
It's easy to do:
- While watching a video in the iVillage Audio Video Player right click somewhere on the actual video window.
- A menu will appear. If using Windows Audio Video select "Full Screen". After a brief delay the video will start playing in full screen mode. If using Real chose "Zoom" then select "Full Screen". After a brief delay the video will start playing in full screen mode.
- To get out of full screen mode right click on the video again. If using Windows Audio Video deselect "Full Screen". After a brief delay the video will snap back into the iVilage Audio Video Player window. If using Real chose "Zoom" then select "Original". After a brief delay the video will snap back into the iVilage Audio Video Player window.
If you want to watch or listen to an audio video clip while you are at work, try plugging headphones into your computer or your computer speakers so you don't bother your colleagues.
Most computers have a headphone jack in the back of the computer. Laptops usually have a headphone jack on the side. Your computer speakers also may have a headphone jack in the front of one of the speakers.
Enjoy!
