4. Spider
What you need:
- Black T-shirt
- 2 pairs black tights or stockings
- 3 pairs cheap gloves
- String
- Newspaper or other material for stuffing tights
- Face paint
Directions:
- If using tights, cut them into 2 legs.
- Stuff the legs/stockings and sew shut.
- Sew the four legs on to the black T-shirt.
- Sew two pairs of the gloves on to the extra arms.
- Use string to join the arms, so that when your child moves his arm, he moves the other two as well.
- Draw six eyes with face paint on your child's forehead and spider 'fangs' on his cheeks.
5. Scarecrow
What you need:
- Flannel shirt
- Old trousers
- Rope
- Plastic shopping bags
- Straw hat
- Straw
- Eyebrow pencil
- Inexpensive straw hat
Directions:
- Borrow one of dad's flannel shirts.
- Use pieces of rope as a belt and to tie at the cuffs of his trousers and sleeves.
- Stuff the shirt and pants with plastic grocery bags.
- Use a few pieces of straw to stick out of the sleeves and cuffs.
- Use an eyebrow pencil to draw the face, making a large smile and triangle shapes around his eyes.
- Top off the outfit with an inexpensive straw hat.
