People plants

by Deb Donovan
Create your own people plants - it's simple and great fun

The only materials you need for this craft are plastic or styrofoam cups, potting soil, markers and some grass seed.

Have your child draw a face on the cup using markers. Then help fill the cup to about one inch from the top with potting soil. Sprinkle grass seeds onto the soil and lightly cover with more soil and water. Keep damp, misting with a spray bottle of water, until the seeds begin to sprout. Then place in a sunny location and enjoy.

This is an activity even your youngest will have fun with (if he can wait a few days for the grass to begin sprouting). Make one person or a whole family. Your child can even give her people plants a haircut and, unlike her dolls, this hair does grow back!
