The rhyming book
A great warm-up for this activity is The Rhyming Game
What this activity will develop:
Listening, language and thinking skills
What you'll need:
- A book with lines that rhyme
What to do:
When you read a book with rhymes to your child, leave out the last word in a rhyming sentence and ask your child what word he or she thinks would finish the sentence. Encourage your child to think of a word that rhymes. Then read the complete original sentence to see how the author finished the rhyme.
