Potty training
I have a three-year-old daughter who we are trying to potty train. She'll go when we tell her to, but she won't say when she needs to go. How do I get her to tell me when she needs to go on the potty?
Are you sure that your daughter knows exactly when she has to go to the toilet? That knowledge is sometimes the last piece in the toilet-training process. it can't be hurried. A child must be neurologically mature enough to make the connection between the feeling in his or her body and the need to go to the toilet.
If you are sure that your daughter knows when she needs to go, then explain to her that this is the time to go on the potty (as patiently and enthusiastically as you can).
