Ring toss
Ring toss activities are great for developing eye-hand co-ordination and for using large muscles.
Place a dowel stick in the ground, with a foot of dowel above ground. Use rubber rings or make cardboard rings to toss.
What this activity will develop:
Motor skills
What you'll need:
- Dowel or stick
- Rubber rings or cardboard to make rings
Place a dowel stick in the ground, with a foot of dowel above ground. Use rubber rings or make cardboard rings to toss.
What to do:
Allow your child to stand as close as necessary to be successful, and encourage tossing the rings over the dowel. When your child seems ready, challenge him or her to move back a step and try hitting the target from the new spot. Make the game challenging by counting the number of 'ringers' out of five tries from each new distance.
