Knight in armour costume
What you'll need
- 2 sheets of cardboard
- Black or grey yarn
- Silver paper or aluminium foil
- White glue
- Black permanent marker
- 6-litre plastic carton
- Scraps of foil, felt, ribbon, yarn and coloured paper
Background
Transform your child into a knight in shining armour with the help of a milk carton and some tin foil.
What to do
- Cut the sheets of cardboard to the appropriate length and round off the corners. Cut a round neckline.
- Cut the paper or foil in strips or scallops. Glue on the armour to cover one side of each cardboard sheet.
- Decorate the armour shapes with black permanent marker.
- Punch a hole at each shoulder and two holes at each side. Tie a length of yarn through each hole to join halves of costume.
- Cut out the carton to create the helmet.
- Glue on various scraps to decorate the carton.
- Add details with permanent marker.
- Add a red scarf as a neck drape, a homemade shield and sword to complete this costume, if desired.
