Paul Potts: It's not quite in the bag for Boyle

Ahead of Saturday's final of Britain's Got Talent, iVillage.co.uk's Gavin Conway spoke exclusively to 2007 winner Paul Potts, who had some words of advice for bookies' favourite Susan Boyle
It's been a whirlwind couple of years for Potts, who grabbed the nation's hearts with his audition performance of Nessun Dorma on the hit talent show before ditching his job as a mobile phone salesman to tour the world.
'I can't believe it was two years ago,' he admits. 'It feels like yesterday sometimes and a lot has happened since. I've been to 30 different countries and performed in all those countries. It's just incredible.'
Indeed, had it not been for the lucky roll of a coin, Potts' life would have turned out very differently.
He explains: 'When I was thinking about auditioning, I couldn't decide whether I was good enough, whether I was what they were looking for or whether I was young enough. So I flipped a coin and that made my decision.
'I knew I wasn't exactly the chiselled pop star but for me it was about turning up and doing my best. If that coin had landed on the other side I'd probably still be selling phones.'
Two years (and a hit album) on from Potts' dramatic triumph, a new singing sensation has emerged in the shape of Susan Boyle.
Within days of her appearing on Britain's Got Talent she became a worldwide hit on YouTube, racking up a reported 100 million views. Most bookmakers have her as the odds-on favourite to win on Saturday night and there are rumours she has already signed a recording contract with Simon Cowell.
