enchanted castle
Capture the magic of Disney at the 13th-century Blair Castle, surrounded by the beautiful, wild scenery and trails of Highlands Perthshire. Family events include dawn Land Rover tours - experienced gamekeepers drive you into the hills for a glimpse of the local wildlife including red deer, birds of prey and red squirrels - and a trailer ride tour of the castle's organic farm, pulled by a farm tractor. There are also kids' tours of Blair Castle, falconry displays and fairy cake-decorating workshops throughout the spring and summer.

science for your little einsteins
A telecommunications site might not sound like a fun day out but Goonhilly might change your mind. Once the world's largest satellite earth station, kids can explore the future with the resident robot, using the control panel to watch him talk, move and react. The centre is located on Cornwall's stunning Lizard Peninsula and has both indoor and outdoor play areas with rope slide and mini assault course. At The Big Dish cafe, overlooked by Arthur, Goonhilly's oldest antenna, enjoy the renowned Roskilly ice cream.
