Every child has a favourite Disney character and all are loveable friends. So to make your Disney party go with a swing, include some of these specially-themed games and watch your little guests join in the fun
To enjoy Winnie the Pooh's favourite game at home you'll need a fairly large paddling pool, some colour-coded sticks and a dry day!
The object of the game: To race your matchstick or twig to the other side of the pool and win!
Prepare in advance
- Colour two or three matchsticks with different coloured waterproof markers (don't let the children do this in case they mark their clothes). If you're using small twigs instead, wind a different coloured elastic band round each of two or three.
- Fill the paddling pool and construct a 'bridge' over it (this could be as simple as a piece of wood placed across it and supported with books or a piece of string suspended above it and fixed to garden canes either side).
How to play
- Play in twos or threes so the game doesn't descend into chaos. Give each child a matchstick or twig.
- Agitate the water in the direction of the 'winning' side of the bridge, then get the children to drop their sticks in on the count of 'three'.
- Let the children continue to swish the water. The winner is the child whose stick touches the other side of the pool first.
