Poached pears in spiced berry and port sauce

Gently spiced with mulled winter flavours, these vibrant poached pears can be made at least a day ahead of time allowing the flavours to develop and can be served warm or cold with a drizzle of cream
 

Ingredients

  • 120ml Bottlegreen spiced berry cordial
  • 120ml port
  • 4 pears
Serves: 4 Preparation: 10 Cook Time: 40 Total Time: 50min whats this
 

Directions

  1. Place the cordial and port in a saucepan, large enough to hold the pears. Add l water, bring to a simmer
  2. Peel the pears, leaving them whole and the stalk intact. Remove the core at the bottom of the pears with a sharp knife. Place in the syrup and gently poach for approx - minutes, until tender when tested with a knife. Remove
