Third assessment

by Dr Howard Lee

question
What will happen at the third assessment by my health visitor due when my baby is 18 months to 2 years?

answer
There are, as I am sure you will realise, various simple, standard tests that are used to assess the development of any infant. It is these ‘normal’ milestones which are looked for at these assessment examinations. You will notice that there are various ‘centile’ lines shown on baby’s growth and development chart. These give the indication of the normal variation in development of babies and infants. Enquiry will be made concerning your child’s behaviour, walking, eating, toilet training, etc.
