Swimming after giving birth

by Christine Hill

question
I swam up until the birth of my baby and I am now four weeks post-natal. I have stopped bleeding, so can I swim again?

answer
Yes, you can swim again once you have stopped bleeding, usually at five weeks post-natal. Don’t even think about swimming as much as you did before the birth – you will be surprised how weak you will feel after a few lengths.
