Telling your employer

by Working Families

question
Do I have to tell my employer that I'm pregnant?

answer

You do not have to tell your employer that you are pregnant until the 15th week before your baby is due. However, if you need time off to attend antenatal appointments, or you need health and safety protection then you may need to tell your employer before then.

It is entirely up to you to decide when you wish to tell your employer, friends and colleagues about your pregnancy. Remember: the law protects you against dismissal or unfair treatment as a result of pregnancy.
