Sister smokes
My sister is three months pregnant and smokes cigarettes. Shes finding it really difficult to give up and its making her bad-tempered and stressed. Would it really harm the baby if she smoked say four cigarettes a day? How can I help her break the habit?
You havent said whether your sister wants you to help her break the habit. Is she bad-tempered and stressed because you keep nagging her and making her feel guilty?
She is an adult and I presume she knows all the possible risks to her baby if she smokes when pregnant. However, four cigarettes (if it is only four) a day is not very many. She will also have worked out for herself that now is the best time to break the habit completely.
I wonder if it might be better if you leave your sister alone and let her decide what she is going to do about her smoking.
