Lack of pregnancy symptoms
A very good friend is eight weeks along in her first pregnancy. She experienced nausea, breast tenderness and fatigue for a couple of weeks, but within three or four days all of her symptoms disappeared. I'm concerned because I understand that disappearing symptoms can be an early warning sign of miscarriage.
Women who miscarry often have symptoms right up to the loss and even beyond, and women who carry to term sometimes have no symptoms at all.
I'd like to reassure you that I don't feel this has any bearing on the success of the pregnancy. She may well get some of the symptoms back, or new ones in their place.
I hope she has been to a doctor for an appointment, as the best test of foetal wellbeing at this stage is the growth of the uterus. I also recommend daily folic acid supplements. However, if your friend is worried tell her not to hesitate to speak to her doctor or midwife and they can investigate her concerns.
