SIMPLE WAYS TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF

Say goodbye to PMS. You don't have to be stuck suffering with monthly symptoms. Get rid of bloating, mood swings, headaches and other symptoms of PMS by following these easy guidelines:

  • Watch what you eat in the weeks before your period arrives.

  • Avoid sugar, salt and caffeine. Too much salt can lead to water retention, which can cause swollen, tender breasts and headaches. Excess sugar can cause fluctuating blood-sugar levels, which can intensify mood swings.

  • Try eating additional carbohydrates, which have the effect of helping you maintain a constant blood-sugar level.

  • Drink plenty of water, and increase your calcium intake.

  • Help relieve your mood swings by exercising. Not only will this reduce tension, but it will also trigger your body to release natural endorphins, which help to soothe and calm.
