We asked iVillagers from the food message boards for their best peach ideas. Here's the pick of the crop.

With its downy skin and 'pinch-ripe' flesh, the peach is the fruit most often likened to human flesh. It's one of the more erotic of fruits - even saying the word is like blowing a kiss - and it has inspired the world's greatest lovers, writers and chefs.

This golden, plump, velvety member of the rose family certainly inspired iVillagers who posted, and their recipes ranged from the classic dessert Peach Melba - created by the famous chef Auguste Escoffier to honour the object of his admiration, Dame Nellie Melba - to savoury dishes such as a Camembert Parcel with Peach and Raspberry Jelly.
