Take a look at yourself in the mirror, maybe whilst undressing or washing, with your hands by your side. Then repeat with them lifted above your head.
Notice the shape of your breasts, any difference between the two side, the position and direction of the nipples.

If you are familiar with the appearance of your own breasts, you will soon spot any changes.
As you wash your breasts, either lying in the bath, or standing in the shower, run your soapy hand, keeping your fingers straight, over each breast and then up into your armpit.
Get to know your normal texture and be aware that this may vary throughout your period cycle.
What to look for:
- any change in the shape or size of either breast.
- any change in the shape or position of either nipple.
- any flaking, bleeding or discharge from the nipples.
- any unusual dimples or puckering.
- any unusual lumps or thickening of the tissue.
- any feelings of pain or discomfort.
IF YOU DO FIND ANYTHING UNUSUAL, ANY LUMP OR PAINFUL AREA, GO AND SEE YOUR DOCTOR.
