This art project is great for a rainy day inside. Once the game is assembled, your child can test and develop his or her eye-hand co-ordination skills by playing. Practise timing how long it takes to get every bead in a hole and see if your child can beat his or her best time.

What this activity will develop:
Motor and art skills

What you'll need:

• 12cm cardboard circle
• 4 cardboard rings, 12cm diameter
• 12cm circle of clear acetate
• Picture from a greeting card
• Glue
• 6 small beads
• Decorative paper (optional)
• Wool

What to do:

1. Frame the picture with one of the cardboard rings and draw around the outside. Cut out the picture and glue it onto the cardboard circle.

2. Glue three cardboard rings onto the circle, one on top of another. Reserve the fourth ring.

3. Poke six small holes in the picture. Place the beads on the picture and try them in the holes, making any needed adjustments.

4. Glue the acetate circle onto the top cardboard ring.

5. Cover the remaining cardboard ring with decorative paper, if desired. Then glue the ring onto the acetate circle.

6. Glue wool around the edges to finish.

How to play:
Gently tilt the puzzle back and forth until each bead rests in a hole.
