Originally cast in the role of the character Li Mu Bai in Ang Lee's martial arts blockbuster Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Jet turned it down to take the lead in the 2000 action flick Romeo Must Die.

He is currently trying to break into film with Once Upon a Time in Mexico, in which he stars alongside Antonio Banderas, Johnny Depp and Salma Hayek (release date to be announced).
