| Your tea - your type
We all know that you can't tell a book from the cover, but it's surprising what your tea can say about you. Choose the type of tea or the way that you take it from this list to find out! Black, strong, with two sugars If something needs to be done or said that takes guts, you are the person whom others will seek out to take on the terrible task. You have courage of your convictions and expect the same from others. Unfortunately, this can also make some people think that you are domineering or too assertive. What they don't know is that you still suck your thumb, have a comfort blanket and don't like thunderstorms. Practise controlled breathing and soft chanting in your tea break. Black, strong, no sugar You need your tea to reach the parts that other people's tea just doesn't reach; it helps you to see the finer details that others often miss. Sometimes you feel as if you're swimming against the tide. Occasionally that's because you are. Kick back and try going with the flow; you never know what you might see from this different perspective. Think about making somebody else a cuppa during your tea break. Black, weak, one sugar The path of righteousness is clear to you, so why is it so darn difficult to stay on it? Some might say that you're easily distracted, but you prefer to think of yourself as flexible and easy-going, unafraid to try out new things. When it comes to your tea breaks, don't take quite so many but take a little longer over the ones you do. Medium, with milk, no sugar You are the cuppa's number one fan. No need to ask who always says yes when someone makes the tea at work! You may be prone to taking life a little bit too easily sometimes and letting things reach boiling point before you react. Don't let things get on top of you and learn to say no much more than you do at the moment. Say yes, however, to more tea breaks and spice them up by trying a new blend occasionally! Weak, milk and no sugar Tact is your middle name; your ability to dispense sage-like advice is renowned, and people come to you for a receptive ear, confident in the knowledge that their secrets won't be betrayed. If you're honest, you'll admit that this can occasionally be a bit of a cross to bear - it would be nice if your friends would listen to your problems. Try and put a little space between you and the hoards at tea break time. Very weak, milk and no sugar You dropped the word 'doubt' from your vocabulary at a very early age, and your wit and intelligence definitely mark you out from the crowd, at least that's what you think. Beware that you don't come across as too full of yourself; a little modesty can go a long way. At tea break time leave the bag in for a few seconds longer, even if you don't like it; at least you've tried something new. Weak, milk and one sugar Peace and serenity are your watchwords, and providing that you're left alone to get on, you will always deliver. Your dislike of chaos can lead others to think you're a little bit fragile, but that won't bother you. You know the limits of your tolerance. If others want to test those limits, let them; rest assured they'll know about it when they cross the line. If there's a sink full of dirty mugs at tea break time, let somebody else wash them up. Lapsang Souchong We need to know where we've been to know where we're going. Heritage is important to you and this is why the story of Lapsang Souchong appeals to you so much. Persistent, you're prepared to follow things through to the end, even when others have given up hope. More than once you've rescued a lost cause. Take another tip from the Chinese and, if you don't already, try a little t'ai chi at tea break time. Keemum Hail fellow well met! There is nothing you like more than a good rip roaring guffaw with like-minded bon viveurs; you're the life and soul of the party. This gregariousness tends to slightly overshadow your more sensitive side, which you only let a select few witness. Tea break should be a quiet moment for you to recharge your batteries before rejoining the fray. Yunnan A natural leader, it's not so much that you inspire your colleagues into following you, rather they follow you out of curiosity. They want to see just what you'll get up to next. Others may regard your methods as a little idiosyncratic, but you like to think they're generally successful. You're the first to admit that when you get it wrong you do so in spectacular fashion. Tea break time should always be exciting if you're around. Assam You're everybody's friend, you can rub along happily with just about anyone. Good fun to be with, you never have a harsh word to say, even for those who deliberately try your patience. The flip side of this is that it can be a bit of a struggle to be taken seriously. Don't let this discourage you. Your tenacious spirit and fearlessness of failure will see you through in the end. Keep the mood in the canteen up, you'd be sorely missed if you weren't there to raise spirits. Darjeeling It's no surprise that you drink the "Champagne of Teas"; you want the finest things in life, and you want as much of them as possible. Your ability to conspicuously consume can, and frequently does, unnerve your friends. Most times however they'll suffer your excesses because your lust for life is so infectious. Top the kettle up with the finest Evian and enjoy another cup. Dimbula Ambitious and driven, you apply yourself to any task with gusto. A high-flyer from an early age, you have a canny knack of impressing the right people at the right time. As a result, you can find that your energy levels drop and sometimes feel that you just can't take anything else on your plate. Learn to recognise this feeling before things get too much and give yourself time and space to stop and gather your thoughts. Try an extra tea break a day and you'll notice that you'll be able to cope so much better. Uva If anyone has the capacity to cheer up friends and family in an instant, it's you. You have a good ear and a quick wit and can turn the most miserable person around in the time it takes for the kettle to boil and the tea to be made . You also have an uncanny ability to evade tricky situations with a well chosen turn of phrase which will stand you in good stead throughout life. In fact, your company is in such high demand that colleagues will be falling over themselves to make you a brew! Earl Grey You are a person who, like the flavour of Earl Grey, is delicate. Your ego is quite easily bruised. Conversely, you thrive on positive criticism, but unfortunately you feel that you are only as good as your last successor failure. Your state of mind can be a bit of a roller coaster, with frequent ups and downs. Have more faith in yourself: you're stronger and more robust than you think and you'll find you get many more ups than downs that way. Tea breaks for you are rare and precious - try to take a few more, making them a reward for your efforts. English Breakfast A notoriously slow starter, you would never describe yourself as a morning person. You need this hearty brew to kick-start your day, and get the brain box really humming. But like a big old horse, once you're up and running, there is no stopping you, you'll run all day long and all night too given half a chance. Steer clear of senior colleagues during your first tea break, they might not be morning people either. Oolong Frequently misunderstood, you give the impression of being incredibly self-confident and self-assured. Your steely gaze and purposeful manner can easily intimidate others - not that you mean it to, well not most of the time anyway. You're scared that if they knew that this self-confidence was self-consciousness, you'd really be in trouble. March into the kitchen with your chin up and shoulders back. Green tea You are a person who demands balance in all parts of their life. Not prone to strong emotional outbursts, you are at one with yourself and others see you as a reliable and honest friend or colleague. You are likely to be very choosy about what you drink your tea from - no chipped or stained mugs for you. Consider taking life less seriously and learn how to play the teaspoons in your tea break! Chun Mee Like this variety of Chinese tea, you're a little bit of a 'smoothy', you know exactly how to turn on the charm, and this you shamelessly do more than you'd care to admit! What the rest of the world doesn't know is that this is just a smoke screen that hides a softer, more vulnerable side. Like the rest of us you're just looking for love. Keep your eyes open when you're brewing up, you might just find that special person sharing your kettle. Gunpowder Famed amongst your peers for having an eye for the bigger picture, you're an ideas person. Full of energy and vitality you can drive a project through to its conclusion. You hate having to deal with the details; it makes you feel like your trying to walk through treacle. Life is lived fast and you don't have time for those who can't keep up. Jasmine The spirit and the mind are inextricably linked in your head. If you keep your body pure and cleansed, then the mind will be equally pure and cleansed. Discipline is very important to you and very little you do is without good reason. Colleagues can be forgiven for thinking you're a little stuffy and unapproachable at times. Use your tea break as an opportunity to knock down those barriers - after all, friendship is as crucial as purity to a balanced soul. Bubble tea Bang up to date, you were wearing asymmetric tops long before anyone else was, you know what the new black is long before they do at Vogue. You tread a fine line between trendsetter and alternative styles, but you seem to get it right, most of the time anyway (the leopard skin was just a blip!). Allow yourself a private moment of satisfaction as you sip on your bubble tea whilst the rest of the team have an oh so '90s latte. Chai An inveterate traveller, you've got perpetually itchy feet and you're always on the look out for new places to visit. You picked up a taste for Chai when you were in India and have been drinking it ever since. Unfortunately, that's not the only thing you picked up. The fake gold Krishna doesn't look so bad on the mantelpiece, it's just a shame it was so expensive. Use your tea break to plan your next adventure. Iced tea You are the personification of reserved dignity, a perfect model of self-restraint and control. Amid the hustle and bustle, you maintain your poise and serenity, appearing to work in slow motion compared with everyone else, such is your air of composure. This steady reserve masks burning passions within that are so strong you are scared to release them. Be prepared to let your hair down at tea break time, you may find with your flaming desires released you won't need a lead to boil the kettle. Fruit flavour tea Fun and frivolity are what life is all about, so why does everybody else take things so seriously? But even you have to admit that sometimes we need to take a breather from the helter-skelter of life. You don't need to stop very often but when you do, relaxation becomes very important. Try to recreate that feeling of relaxation during your tea breaks; close your eyes and imagine being tucked up in front of a roaring fire with a good book and sipping a nice cup of tea. |
