Looking good on a hangover

carmeloYou can't say no to a party but you've still got to go to work the next day so how do you disguise those tell-tale signs of over-indulgence?

Men's grooming expert Carmelo Guastella offers the following advice:

  • Skin becomes dehydrated after too much alcohol, cigarettes and late nights so the number one rule is water, water and more water
  • As you make your way to the bathroom and peer through half-closed, sore eyes you will probably miss areas of your face as you lather up and forget to change your blade. You won't feel the pain as you scrape your skin because you will still be anaethitised. Make sure you have covered every area of your face prior to shaving
  • Dehydration can lead to irritation so ensure your splash plenty of water onto your face prior to shaving
  • Use an alchol-free spritz toner to rehydrate your skin and to help wake you up
  • No matter how late you are, take five minutes to have a shower and wash your hair. No one wants to smell the alcohol-filled and smokey environment you spent the evening in
  • Use an eye cream which will reduce puffiness and camouflage dark shadows - a much better disguise than dark glasses in winter
  • Ignore the coffee shops on the way in and stick to water for the remainder of the day
No one is saying don't go out and have a good time - just make sure that you don't reveal the tell-tale signs the next day!
