Ever blamed your metabolism for excess bulges and bumps? Well, thanks to Trainsmarts' innovative VO2 gas exchange analyser, those days are gone. What the VO2 gas exchange analyser measures
Both of these measurements are unique to each individual. How it helps you lose weight Kevin Reynolds of The Origin: Health and Fitness, recently invested in Trainsmart's revolutionary equipment. 'In space, weightlessness and weight loss is a big problem' says Reynolds. 'NASA created this equipment to find out what carbohydrates you burn, what fat you burn and, therefore, what your exact calorific needs are.' Trainsmart has adapted this technology for the fitness industry: 'From this equipment I know exactly what an individual needs to lose weight,' says Reynolds. 'By simply eating fewer calories a day than your reading, you will start to lose weight - it's as simple as that.' How it helps to improve fitness The second part of the programme involves calculating your fat bump and anaerobic threshold. The fat bump is the specific heart rate that you must sustain to burn maximum fat, and the anaerobic threshold is the upper point at which you no longer be burn fat but, instead, carbohydrates and sugars. This is measured by breathing into the VO2 analyser mask, while exercising to full capacity, on either a treadmill or exercise bike. This will measure a person's aerobic capacity by indicating the maximum amount of oxygen that can be transported to their muscles in a given amount of time. What do you do next? Plus, if your aim is to lose weight for a specific occasion or date, the programme allows you to accurately calculate daily weight loss so you can work out the exact timescale it will take to lose a specific amount of weight. Proof it works! 'I tested myself pre-Atkins and it showed that I was an 83 per cent carbohydrate burner. I knew that if this machine worked, it should show that I burn 100 per cent fat when I went into ketosis.' He continued, 'I went into ketosis, monitoring myself with ketosis urine dipsticks, and retested. My results showed that I was now a 100 per cent fat burner.' Reynolds says, 'I was also able to accurately predict my weight loss for the following week; I knew I should be approximately 11 stone 2 pounds, and the following week I was 11 stone, 2 pounds and 10 ounces.' He concludes, 'that experiment proved to me that this machine was worth its weight in gold.' Where do you get tested? Cost The cost of the tests may vary at other locations.
