A round-up of new beauty products we like from make-up you invent to the first petrochemical free anti-ageing cream
A4 Age Reverse
As many of us take a more holistic approach to our beauty regimes, avoiding parabens and potentially harmful petrochemicals is increasingly important. Enter the Fushi A4 Age Reversal series, a luxury anti-ageing range containing Argan Oil renowned for its high Vitamin A and E content and essential fatty acids which stimulate cell renewal. I've been using the face cream for just over a month now following the shiatsu energy-point massage technique that's outlined on the box and I'm sure my skin feels plumper and more supple. At £95 it's a bit on the expensive side, but a beauty product that's worth a try if you can afford it.
Also available Face Serum and Body Cream. Order from www.fushi.co.uk.
Ecover hand and body
Environmentally friendly household cleaning brand Ecover made the move into the beauty market a while ago, but I've only just discovered it and liked it so much that I thought it was worth a mention. Their lavender and aloe vera liquid hand soap cleans hands without drying them and their creamy lavender scented shower gel has a skin-neutral pH is also suitable for washing hair.
Hand Soap 250ml - £2.99 Shower Gel 250ml £4.00 Visit www.ecover.com for stockists.
Colorlab Custom Cosmetics
A new US import to Selfridges is Colorlab. A non-comedogenic mineral cosmetics range that allows you to choose and recreate colours at your will. Colorlab's specially trained make-up artists will custom blend a foundation to suit your skin tone and can add additional SPFs, mattifiers or other desired effects into the mix. Best of all they can re-create any discontinued shade or colour you like. I gave them a mere smudge of a discontinued lippy I was desperate to find. They cleverly made up the shade right before my eyes. And they'll keep details of your colours on file for your next visit. Cute packaging too.
From £15 for a lip gloss to £40 for a foundation. Visit www.selfridges.com for more details.
Soap & Glory
We all take our beauty regime seriously, but that doesn't mean we can't have a bit of fun with it too. That's the philosophy behind Soap&Glory a humorous new range of beauty products from Marcia Kilgore, the creator of the much-loved Bliss spa range. Interestingly, British tabloids are the inspiration behind the brand which include amusingly named products such as Sexy Mother Pucker - a lip plumping gloss, Clean On Me shower gel and One Night Tanned self-tan.
Prices start at £4.50. The range is available from Harvey Nichols Beyond Beauty and larger Boots stores. Visit www.soapandglorycosmetics.com for more details.
Naked
Naked - the range of affordable body products made from 97 per cent natural ingredients has just launched a fab new body moisturiser with a twist. Naked Rose With No Clothes Shimmering Body Cream (£9.99 for 400ml) is a deliciously rose-scented body cream made from cold pressed Turkish Damask roses. Its pearlescent particles will add a subtle shimmer to give skin a rosy glow.
Available at larger Boots stores nationwide. Visit www.nakedbodycare.co.uk for more information.
