I trembled as I unfolded the letter. I was shocked, as I hadn't heard from Aunty since I was 12 years old. A sour woman, always checking my room for secrets. She terrified me into being mouse-like. I hated her. Now, I find myself reading words from her representative, saying, 'I, her favourite niece, will inherit half a million pounds.'
Mmmm, it' lovely and warm here today. the sun is shining and all I have to do is drink and play. Mum, can we go for a quick walk now? Or maybe a bit of window shopping? I'm bored with lying in the sun. Think I'll have as good time in the lovely sun once I am born?
Write a story in 60 words? Easy. I just need a bit of inspiration and focus. Hang on the phone's ringing. Right, where was I? A plot, I need a plot. Damn Coronation Street's on. OK here we go. She was so beautiful, Derek had never dreamt this moment would happen, but he was ready. He took a deep breath, closed his eyes, bent forward and pressed his lips to hers. It was the moment he had been waiting for.
Hungrily he watched her. His lust for blood needed to be satisfied. He would wait until she reached the alley and that's when he would pounce. Unaware, she began the short walk home. She screamed as he lunged at her.
'Push' he shouted at her.
Dizzily she climbed the stairs of her new house. It was her first night and she was hearing noises coming from the bedroom. It was pitch black and she was breathing heavily. She reached for the bedroom door handle, she shakily turned the handle and pushed open the bedroom door. She gasped as she looked around and found... SPIDERS.
She had loved him with all her heart, he was her world, what she wanted out of life...and here she was now....crying for what she had lost. In one moment she had lost her whole identity, and no one saw it like this....Then her husband said...'your father was a great person, he lives on in you.' The mocking laughter of his classmates had resounded in his ears.
'You, a writer' they had sneered.
The storm came from nowhere. He should never have attempted his boat's maiden voyage alone. The sea grew choppier. Suddenly he heard a woman's cries. He spotted her long blonde hair as she sank beneath the waves and without a thought for his own safety, he dived in.
Alan was ready to face his ex-wife Claire's new man. It would give him closure he thought to himself. He was seated in the pub waiting for them, pint in hand. Not that he needed to steady his nerves, he was totally over her. They walked in hand in hand.

Sitting on warm sand, squinting at the brightness of the sun, inhaling the pungent smell of seaweed, she eats her soggy tomato sandwiches and drinks the flat, warm orange. Even the gritty texture of sand, lodged in the bread, doesn't take from the feeling that this is probably the best day yet of her seven years of life.
Mum told me the world was full of people who could hurt me. She told me to stay close. But I lost Mum ...and now HE's out there. I can see his shadow and his cruel, dark eyes. I'll just crouch here quietly...ooh...it's safe.
