Scotland
This year Scotland is holding two major bonfire night celebrations, both taking place on Friday, 5 November 2004. Join the crowds at 7:30pm on Glasgow Green to watch 50,000 explosions set to music that will rock the city. Edinburgh's largest firework display takes place in the Meadowbank stadium at 7:30pm. Entertainment includes a bagpipe performance - in case you forget where you are!

Catherine wheels will be spinning and sparklers will be a-glow in England's capital. Join in the celebrations at Alexandra Palace for fireworks at 7:30pm on 6 November, where the attractions include an indoor funfair, a beer festival and an ice rink. Alternatively, join the crowds at Battersea Park for what promises to be a spectacular display.

Midlands and West of England
Throughout the night of the 6 November in Bristol, there is a funfair and entertainment programme, culminating in the city's biggest fireworks display on the Downs. Edgbaston in Birmingham is another destination for firework enthusiasts and attracts 30,000 people each year (the Thistle Birmingham Edgbaston is within walking distance). The event begins at 6:30pm on the Saturday night.

Lewes
Created exclusively for Lewes' residents, Lewes' celebrated bonfire night on Friday, 5 November, has five competing bonfire societies dress in colourful costume and walk the streets carrying blazing torches. The celebration culminates in huge firework displays from sunset onwards.

Leeds Castle
Set about an hour south of London, this castle hosts a day full of activities on Saturday 6 November, culminating in a fantastic fireworks display. Gates open at 1pm and from 2pm guests can enjoy a traditional fairground, with carousel, ferris wheel, dodgems and other rides, along with hot and cold refreshments. The fireworks start at 6pm. Please note that the castle interiors will not be open. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

North of England
Newcastle is holding 13 different events across the city; the biggest is at Newburn Leisure Centre from 7:00pm. Manchester is holding six separate bonfires around the city, and in Liverpool, fireworks will be launched from a barge moored at Kings Dock, exploding in time to synchronised music. From 8pm onwards.
