| Prince Harry vs Prince William: who is Highgrove's hottest totty?
They are fast earning a reputation as the Party Princes, and there is no denying William and Harry are far more approachable (and easier on the eye) than their royal ancestors. But just how much do we know about these sexy royals, and who is the hottest heir to the throne?
Stats: Blue-eyed Wills, 24, is the image of his mum with his high cheekbones and blonde locks. And the 6'3' hunk also takes after her in terms of temperament, saying his guiding principles in life are 'to be honest, genuine, thoughtful and caring.' CV: Having graduated with a 2:1 in Geography from St Andrews, Wills went on to complete army officer training at Sandhurst. As well as his military role, Wills is patron of Centrepoint, the UK's leading charity for the homeless, and president of the Football Association. But he insists that his army career is important to him and that he is prepared to fight on the frontline. 'The last thing I want to do is be mollycoddled or wrapped up in cotton wool,' says the future heir to the throne. 'I'd want to go where my men went and I'd want to do what they did.' Love life: Wills has been with the gorgeous Kate Middleton for three years and the pair are said to be building a home together in the Wye Valley as Kate tries to get her children's clothing venture off the ground. Kate even joined Wills, his dad and his brother on their annual skiing trip to Klosters last year, where she looked very much at ease with the Royals. Much has been made of her middle-class upbringing but Wills says: 'I don't deliberately select my friends because of their background. If I enjoy someone's company, then that's all that counts.' Potential Princesses: In the past, Britney Spears confessed to having a crush on sexy William and the pair even emailed each other for a while. Hollywood star Renee Zellweger also confessed to fancying the prince but Wills is incredibly modest about his good looks, saying he chooses his mum's favourite photographer, Mario Testino, for his portraits 'because he's the only person who could make a moose look good.' Interests: A major fan of rugby union, he visited New Zealand last year to support the British and Irish Lions on their tour. He loves water polo, swimming and football (he supports Aston Villa) as well as dancing and riding his motorbike. He also loves to watch TV, including Friends, and admits that he and Harry often tussle over the remote control. 'We like the same sort of things on TV,' he explains. 'Although there is usually an argument over who watches what. That usually goes on for quite a while.' Family relations: 'We get along really well, Harry and I and my father, we're a very close family,' claims Wills. 'But there are disagreements, obviously, as all families have.' His close relationship with his younger brother was illustrated during the recent phone-tapping scandal by a message he left for Harry, mimicking his girlfriend Chelsy Davy: 'It's Chelsy. I miss you so much, you big ginger, and I want you to know I love you,' mocked Wills. High Point: His time at St Andrews was peaceful for the Prince as the media largely left him alone. 'I do all my own shopping, I go out, get takeaways, rent videos, go to the cinema, just basically anything I want to really,' he said back in 2004. Low point: Wills must have caught a fair bit of family flak after his 21st birthday party was gatecrashed by 'comedy terrorist' Aaron Barschak. Barschak, dressed as Osama Bin Laden, climbed onto the stage where William was making a speech, thanking his grandmother for the party! Prospects: William is second in line to the throne, after his father, Prince Charles, and could one day be the King of England. But he doesn't let the responsibility weigh heavily on his mind. 'The thing is with me, I look on the brighter side of everything,' says Wills. 'There's no point being pessimistic or worried about too many things because frankly life's too short. Keeping your feet firmly on the ground is the most important thing.'
Stats: Harry (born Prince Henry), 21, personifies 'cheeky chappy' charm. At 6'2' he has the same broad-shouldered physique as his brother but his freckled face and easy grin make him very appealing, specifically with the ladies! CV: Harry successfully 'passed out' from Sandhurst in April and became an officer in the British Army. On completing his special training at Bovington in Dorset he will return to Windsor where he will be responsible for a troop of 11 soldiers. Harry also launched his own charity, Sentebale, to care for Aids orphans in Lesotho. 'Sentebale means 'forget me not' and it's a way that both me and [co-founder] Prince Seeiso can relate to our mothers, who were both in sort of the same jobs working with orphaned children,' he says. Love life: Zimbabwean Chelsy Davy has stolen Harry's heart, and despite the long-distance love, the pair seem very happy. The blonde heiress, and former Cheltenham Ladies College pupil, is studying economics and commerce in her home town of Cape Town. 'My girlfriend is somebody who is very special to me. I know the real her,' he says. 'I would love to tell everyone how amazing she is but that's my private life, and once I start talking about that, then I've left myself open.' Potential princesses: A bevy of beauties have declared their lust for bad boy Harry in the past, with Lindsay Lohan recently declaring he was her favourite prince. 'Harry is definitely more my type,' said the Just My Luck starlet. 'He seems more like trouble.' Interests: Harry revealed a surprising penchant for talent show Pop Idol in a recent interview, but he generally tends to prefer more manly activities. 'I'm not obsessed by golf,' he explains. 'I play it occasionally, but I don't want to play it professionally.' And despite his army career, he doesn't plan on giving up his horseback pursuits just yet. 'I will still play polo a lot, probably like my father does in charity matches, but also competitively,' he adds. Family relations: Harry has made no secret of how close he is to his brother, as photos of them partying together prove. 'He is the one person on this earth who I can actually talk to about anything,' says the prince. High point: Sweating it out on the Aids-ridden streets of Lesotho to work with orphans, aged only 19. Harry says he intends to continue returning to the African country. 'I see myself doing as much as I can in the position that I've got - Lesotho will probably play a very major part in that,' he says. 'As far as I'm concerned, I'm committed for the rest of my life.' Low point: Known for smoking, drinking and enjoying the odd lap dance, Harry has certainly set the bar for Royals behaving badly. But pictures of him last year at a fancy dress party wearing a Nazi uniform caused widespread anger and forced a public apology from the prince. 'I am who I am,' he said after things had died down. 'I'm not going to change because I'm being criticised in the press. I'm always going to have that little child streak.' Prospects: Harry is hugely popular and has become the most admired member of his clan. He has made it clear he is determined not to be 'some person in the Royal Family who just finds a lame excuse to go abroad' so he could be set to follow in his mum's do-gooding footsteps. But don't expect him to stop partying just yet. He declares defiantly: 'Does everyone expect me to be just the caring person and not to have a cigarette, not to have a beer?' We certainly hope not! |
