Lisa tried the MorningWell tapes to relieve her daily nausea, and kept a diary to record how it worked
I would just like to say a big thank you to the person who invented it.
Day 1: Tuesday 29th January (pregnancy week 7)
Well, I know that I should not speak too soon but they really do seem to work! I have been suffering for the last couple of weeks, every morning, feeling very nauseous and without going into too much detail, a lot of heaving! This morning I woke up and grabbed my headphones, stayed in bed listening to the tape for about half an hour and even managed to eat a biscuit (quite a novelty!). I have been listening to the tape most of the morning and feel so much better people at work may think I am mad. Is it working because it is relaxing me and taking my mind off the horrid feelings? Lets see how tomorrow goes.
Day 2: Wednesday 30th January
When I first woke up this morning I did not experience sickness but I was actually disappointed by this, since I am feeling a little scared last night I experienced some bleeding which has continued today. I want to suffer a sick feeling as it will reassure me about the baby as silly as this may sound. When I got up I did feel nauseous but was that because I wanted to? I listened to the tape anyway, which made me feel better it was like a comforter to me.
Day 3: Thursday 31st January
I feel OK this morning, and think I have convinced myself that any sickness feelings are nerves so I have not listened to the tape although I am taking it with me to the hospital in case I need it. The scan was good I saw the baby, everything is fine.
Day 4: Friday 1st February
Today was a bad one my sickness was not good all day. I woke up feeling bad and listened to my tape. It did help, but once I was up and moving about and at work, I felt very sick. I ended up going home at lunchtime and putting my feet up listening to the tape. I found that this helped more than trying to listen to the tape whilst working.
Day 5: Saturday 2nd February
I had my headphones glued to my ears on and off for most of the day. I believe it really has helped me. The music seems to be very calming, which I think settles my body. It has also helped me eat I still dont have an appetite but I am eating and feeling better for it.
Tuesday 26th February (pregnancy week 11)
My morning sickness is very much better now I dont use the tape so often but it is still in my handbag for emergencies! It has become reassuring to me to know I have it with me.
I would just like to say a big thank you to the person who invented it it has been a godsend. I am not sure whether it helps because it makes you feel in a relaxed state of mind, but whatever it does it sure is an asset to a suffering pregnant lady.
