Diet goals you can reach

We asked iVillagers for short-term attainable goals. Of course, you'd like to lose two stone or win a 5K race, but we asked for small steps first - something to mark that you are on your way to your ultimate goal, whatever that may be. Sometimes even writing a goal can be a challenge. Here are some great goals that you can start reaching for today

Start with a goal
My fitness goal is to set a few small goals. I always scare myself by setting an unattainable goal and then giving up. I like the idea of setting it for just one week at a time. iVillager

Just do it
This week my fitness goal is to "just do it". No more excuses and no more putting it off. I will get to the gym and get out all stresses that that day brings. After that I can tackle the at-home chores and feel great about my day. Michelle

Get a new attitude
My goal is to be bold and adjust my attitude. I am going to make myself walk around the block three times this week, and hopefully build upon the number of times I walk around the block. So far I haven't done any exercise on a semi-consistent basis - that was yesterday; today and tomorrow offer new opportunities to build a healthier me. Kat

Timing is the essence
This week, my goal is not to eat anything after 8pm for three nights. Helene

One step at a time
I want to be able to walk up the stairs without feeling as if I'm having a heart attack. I have made myself a promise that today will be my day of drinking lots of water (no more fizzy drinks), eating fruits and veggies and some sort of exercise at least four times a week. iVillager

Drink to your goal
My goal is to drink at least eight glasses of water a day. I will have water in the car, at work, in the morning, in the evening. Water, water, everywhere. Becky

Get in control
I will walk three times this week. Call a friend when I want to eat. Paint my nails instead of snacking. iVillager
