Create a nest to rival a bird's abode with materials you can pick up from the garden

There's nothing like a traditional egg hunt to get you in the mood for Easter, and this rustic nest will make finding the prize even more worthwhile.

Made with twigs from the garden, it can be used year after year for your eggs, whether they're hand-painted or of the chocolate variety. Look for twigs that are as thin and supple as possible, since this will make it much easier to mould the nest into shape.

You will need

• Twigs from the garden
• Thin florist's wire
• Pliers (to cut wire)
• Feathers
• Chocolate eggs

1. Take some of the thinnest twigs and shape them into a flat circle, about 10cm in diameter. Wrap a piece of wire loosely around the diameter to keep the twigs in place. This will form the base of the nest.	2. Gather a bundle of twigs, about 40cm long. Cut short pieces of wire and use them to bind the twigs at intervals. Mould the twigs into a circle and join the ends with another piece of wire.	3. Attach the circle to the base with pieces of wire at points around the nest. Add feathers to the nest for an authentic look, then fill it with eggs. Find a secret place for the nest in your garden and let the hunt begin!
