Knit your own slippers

knitted slippers Last Christmas I bought my flatmate a pair of red chunky slippers, this year I thought I'd knit her a pair instead. These are really easy to do as I've just used stocking stitch, and they are really quick to knit up

To make up

Sew up using mattress stitch (see page 31), but instead of working on the right sides, work on the wrong sides to create a visible seam. Join left and right side from cast off.

Pompoms

Use two 5cm diameter circles of card and the remaining yarn to make two pompoms. Attach to slippers by darning in the binding yarn around the ankle of the slipper, so that you can pill tight to tighten slipper.
