| The beginner's guide to growing your own
These days it's easy to find what you need to grow your organic garden as all you need is likely to be available at your local garden center, DIY store or even the supermarket! Here are a few simple steps to planning and growing your own:
Prepare your organic garden
You can improve the soil in your beds and borders to set the stage for a spectacular organic vegetable garden. Organic compost, such as Miracle-Gro® Organic Choice™ Garden All Purpose Compost can be mixed in with your soil. You can also improve your soil with products such as Miracle-Gro® Organic Choice™ Plant Food. Or, you can simply buy a Miracle-Gro® Organic Choice™ planter - simply cut the top open and plant your seeds or plants directly into the planter. It already has organic plant food mixed in so get ready for lots of fruit and veggies!
Choose plantsA wide range of fruit and veggies are available to you when you choose to go organic. If you want to buy seedlings find out whether they were grown organically. If you're not sure, grow your veggies from seed. It's easy, and you can feel sure about your veggies that way. One way to get a start on the season is to plant your seeds indoors in paper cups, and move them out when the weather warms up.
Plant
Check the instructions on your plants to see how they should be spaced. To avoid shocking your herbs, plant them in the early morning. First, dig out a hole that is about twice as wide as your plant's root ball. Gently place your plant in the hole, then backfill. That's all there is to it.
Feed and WaterProvide your new plants with plenty of water and for best results, feed them with Miracle-Gro® Organic Choice™ Plant Food.Miracle-Gro® gives you the best results providing both quick- and slow-release feeding to get plants off to a fast start and keep them growing naturally. This translates to bigger, healthier veggies and fruits with more abundant harvests than other products.
