Pumpkin Orange Biscuits

A kid-friendly way to use up that scooped-out pumpkin flesh
Ingredients
- 300g plain flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp nutmeg, freshly grated
- 3 tbsp butter, chilled and cut into small pieces
- 450g pumpkin, cooked and mashed
- orange zest
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp double cream

- Preheat the oven to //gas mark
- Place all of the dry ingredients in a large bowl and combine well.
- Add the butter and work into the dry ingredients with a knife until the mixture resembles a coarse meal.
- Stir in the pumpkin and the zest from orange.
- Place the dough on a floured surface and pat down carefully until m thick.
- Cut with a floured m cutter, or cut into m squares.
- Place on a well greased baking sheet.
- Gather up the scraps, pat down and cut again.
- Beat the egg in a small bowl and add the cream.
- . Brush the biscuits evenly with the mixture.
