Reading: Big initials
No comments
A great project for children who are just learning to read and write, this activity reinforces pre-reading skills and small-motor skills. It also taps into children's creative skills as they collect personalised pictures to glue onto their initials.
What this activity will develop:
Reading, art and physical skills
What you'll need: Thick paper Scissors Glue Magazines Newspapers What to do:
Have children cut out their initials from large sheets of thick paper. Then have them look in the magazines and newspapers for pictures and words that describe their hobbies, likes, family, talents, favourite school subjects, foods and travel spots. Ask the children to glue these items on their initials to create their own personalised collages. Hang the finished project on the refrigerator or on the door to their rooms.
